What this tool does
Paste JSON on the left and the formatted result appears on the right as you type. Use Format for readable output, Minify to strip whitespace for transport, or Sort keys to order every object alphabetically, which makes two payloads easy to compare.
Finding errors
When the JSON is invalid the tool shows the line and column of the first problem and the text around it. The usual causes are a trailing comma, single quotes instead of double quotes, an unquoted key, or a missing bracket.
Privacy
Parsing and formatting run in your browser with a strict JSON parser written for this page. It only changes whitespace: large numbers such as 12345678901234567890, trailing zeros, key order, duplicate keys and string escapes stay exactly as you wrote them. Nothing is sent to a server, so it is safe to paste API responses and config files.
